\nPraise God, He has truly blessed Raleigh Chinese Christian Church. As we come together to count His blessings, let us not forget Dr. and Mrs. Middleton, the missionary couple who opened their home to a Raleigh Chinese bible study group back in 1963, and Mary Herring\u2014a sister who had a deep love for the Chinese. We should also express our appreciation to Forest Hills Baptist Church who lovingly nurtured RCCC from 1978. Last but not least, we remember the diligent service of Pastor John S. P. Tsai\u2019s family and many brothers and sisters. If it were not for their efforts to show the love of Christ to the Chinese people, Raleigh Chinese Christian Church would not have been founded in 1984. May the Lord remember their love and their good, faithful service. When Jesus comes again, may they receive the prize together with us.
\nAs we look back on the period from the time our church was formally named Raleigh Chinese Christian Church to the year 1989, we see that God let us experience three important events which had significant impact on church growth: drafting of the constitution, change of pastor and building a new church. At that time, if the newly arrived Pastor Peter Ning had not worked zealously for the drafting of the constitution (because he discerned the need for the Chinese believers in Raleigh to have an independent, non-denominational church), we would not have changed our name from “Raleigh Chinese Baptist Mission” to RCCC. If the brothers and sisters at that time had not given sacrificially and worked together as one, we would not have been able to move into the first church building owned by us at Wake Forest Road. The united, living testimony shown by a group of God\u2019s people left a deep impression on the Chinese community of that day. However, the most exciting thing was not external construction. At that time, before the first worshippers entered the church, some would go to each Sunday school classroom to set up the place and pray for teachers and students by name. After most worshippers had departed, another group would voluntarily clean up the bathrooms, disposing of dirty diapers. “Everyone serves, serving everyone” was the testimony of this church family in Christ. However, it was not easy to move out of a well-organized mother church which took care of our every need and “set up house” on our own. Many miscellaneous details posed problems. Traditional concepts and personal preferences became challenges to cooperation and spreading the gospel with one mind and purpose. Acceptance, forbearance and mutual caring were lessons everyone had to learn in order for the church to grow. Under this atmosphere of corporate caring and participation, God raised up several faithful servants to serve Him in full time ministry: Rev. Ton Lee, Rev. Hsu Chung-chang and Rev. Joshua Hongi Leu. These are just some snapshots from the time when our church was first founded.
\nNow as we celebrate our 25th anniversary, let us build on the legacy of the past and look to the future, striving to serve our Lord even more faithfully. But how can we do that? I invite you to read carefully with me II Peter 1:5-11: “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ\u2026 Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager.\u2026and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” May these words from II Peter become reality among us through the power of the Holy Spirit. \n\u611f\u8b1d\u795e\uff0c\u7942\u8aa0\u7136\u7737\u9867\u4e86\u6d1b\u9e97\u83ef\u4eba\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u6703\u3002\u7576\u6211\u5011\u4e00\u540c\u6578\u7b97\u7942\u7684\u6069\u5178\u7684\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u8b93\u6211\u5011\u4e0d\u8981\u5fd8\u8a18\u65e9\u57281963\u5e74\u6642\uff0c\u5c31\u70ba\u6d1b\u9e97\u83ef\u4eba\u958b\u653e\u5bb6\u5ead\u5efa\u7acb\u67e5\u7d93\u73ed\u7684Dr. & Mrs. Middleton \u4e2d\u570b\u5ba3\u6559\u58eb\u592b\u5a66\u548cMary Herring\u9019\u4f4d\u6df1\u611b\u4e2d\u570b\u4eba\u7684\u59ca\u59b9\u3002\u4e5f\u8981\u611f\u8b1d\u5f9e1978\u5e74\u8d77\uff0c\u5c31\u6eff\u6709\u611b\u5fc3\u5730\u6276\u6301\u80b2\u51fa\u6d1b\u9e97\u83ef\u4eba\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u6703\u7684Forest Hills Baptist Church. \u66f4\u8981\u611f\u8b1d\u672a\u6210\u7acb\u7368\u7acb\u6559\u6703\u4e4b\u524d\uff0c\u8f9b\u82e6\u670d\u4e8b\u7684\u8521\u6607\u5e73\u7267\u5e2b\u4e00\u5bb6\u53ca\u773e\u5f1f\u5144\u59ca\u59b9\u3002\u82e5\u4e0d\u662f\u4ed6\u5011\u628a\u57fa\u7763\u7684\u611b\u986f\u660e\u5728\u6211\u5011\u9019\u7fa4\u4e2d\u570b\u4eba\u7684\u8eab\u4e0a\u5c31\u4e0d\u6703\u67091984\u5e74\u6d1b\u9e97\u83ef\u4eba\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u6703\u7684\u6210\u7acb\u3002\u9858\u795e\u8a18\u5ff5\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u611b\u5fc3\u8207\u5fe0\u5fc3\u826f\u5584\u7684\u4e8b\u5949\u3002\u7576\u4e3b\u518d\u4f86\u7684\u65e5\u5b50\uff0c\u9858\u4ed6\u5011\u8207\u6211\u5011\u540c\u5f97\u596c\u8cde\u3002
\n\u56de\u60f3\u5f9e1984\u5e74\u6b63\u5f0f\u8a02\u540d\u30fb\u6d1b\u9e97\u83ef\u4eba\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u6703\u30fb\u81f31989\u5e74\u9019\u500b\u968e\u6bb5\uff0c\u795e\u8b93\u6559\u6703\u7d93\u6b77\u4e86\u4eba\u5011\u8a8d\u70ba\u6700\u6703\u5f71\u97ff\u6559\u6703\u6210\u9577\u7684\u4e09\u5927\u4e8b\u4ef6\uff1a\u64ec\u8a02\u6703\u7ae0\u3001\u7267\u8005\u6539\u63db\u3001\u5efa\u5802\u4e8b\u5de5\u3002\u7576\u5e74\u82e5\u4e0d\u662f\u521d\u4f86\u4e0d\u4e45\u7684\u752f\u5a01\u4e9e\u7267\u5e2b\u6e05\u695a\u6d1b\u9e97\u83ef\u4eba\u9700\u8981\u4e00\u500b\u7368\u7acb\u6c92\u6709\u5b97\u6d3e\u7684\u6559\u6703\u3001\u5927\u529b\u63a8\u52d5\u64ec\u8a02\u6703\u7ae0\uff0c\u5c31\u4e0d\u6703\u67091984\u5e74\u7684\u30fb\u6d1b\u9e97\u83ef\u4eba\u6d78\u4fe1\u6703\u4f48\u9053\u6240\u30fb\u6539\u540d\u70ba\u4eca\u5929\u6559\u6703\u7684\u540d\u5b57\u3002\u82e5\u4e0d\u662f\u6709\u7576\u5e74\u5f1f\u5144\u59ca\u59b9\u72a7\u7272\u7684\u5949\u737b\u3001\u540c\u5fc3\u5efa\u9020\uff0c\u5c31\u4e0d\u53ef\u80fd\u65bc1988\u5e74\u9077\u5165\u5728Wake Forest Road\u7684\u7b2c\u4e00\u9593\u5c6c\u65bc\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u6559\u5802\u3002\u4e00\u7fa4\u795e\u7684\u5b50\u6c11\u540c\u5fc3\u5408\u610f\u6240\u6d3b\u51fa\u7684\u898b\u8b49\uff0c\u9084\u771f\u8f5f\u52d5\u4e86\u7576\u6642\u7684\u83ef\u4eba\u793e\u5340\u3002\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u5916\u9762\u7684\u5efa\u9020\u9084\u4e0d\u662f\u6700\u4ee4\u4eba\u8208\u596e\u7684\u3002\u90a3\u6642\u6709\u4e9b\u4eba\u6703\u5728\u773e\u4eba\u672a\u8e0f\u5165\u6703\u5802\u4e4b\u524d\uff0c\u5148\u53bb\u628a\u6bcf\u9593\u4e3b\u65e5\u5b78\u6559\u5ba4\u6574\u7406\u59a5\u7576\uff0c\u53c8\u70ba\u8001\u5e2b\u3001\u5b78\u751f\u4e00\u4e00\u63d0\u540d\u4ee3\u79b1\u3002\u53c8\u6709\u4e9b\u4eba\u5728\u773e\u4eba\u90fd\u96e2\u53bb\u4e86\u4e4b\u5f8c\uff0c\u81ea\u767c\u81ea\u52d5\u5730\u53bb\u6253\u6383\u885b\u751f\u9593\u3001\u6e05\u7406\u5b30\u5152\u7528\u904e\u7684\u5c3f\u7247\u3002\u30fb\u4eba\u4eba\u670d\u4e8b\uff0c\u670d\u4e8b\u4eba\u4eba\u30fb\u662f\u90a3\u6642\u5019\u9019\u500b\u4e3b\u5167\u5927\u5bb6\u5ead\u7684\u898b\u8b49\u3002\u4f46\u662f\uff0c\u5f9e \u4e00\u500b\u4e95\u4e95\u6709\u689d\u3001\u4e8b\u4e8b\u7167\u9867\u59a5\u7576\u7684\u6bcd\u6703\u4e2d\u642c\u51fa\u4f86\u81ea\u7406\u9580\u6236\u5be6\u5728\u4e0d\u6613\u3002\u597d\u4e9b\u4e8b\u52d9\u7684\u7d30\u5fae\u672b\u7bc0\u90fd\u6210\u4e86\u5927\u5bb6\u7684\u8003\u9a57\u3002\u50b3\u7d71\u7684\u5f71\u97ff\u3001\u500b\u4eba\u7684\u559c\u597d\u90fd\u6210\u4e86\u914d\u642d\u4e8b\u5949\u8207\u540c\u5fc3\u8208\u65fa\u798f\u97f3\u7684\u6311\u6230\u3002\u5f1f\u5144\u59ca\u59b9\u7684\u5f7c\u6b64\u64d4\u5f85\u3001\u5305\u5bb9\u66f4\u6210\u4e86\u6559\u6703\u6210\u9577\u7684\u5fc5\u4fee\u8ab2\u3002\u5c31\u662f\u5728\u9019\u6a23\u4e8b\u4e8b\u95dc\u5df1\u3001\u4eba\u4eba\u53c3\u8207\u7684\u74b0\u5883\u4e0b\uff0c\u795e\u8208\u8d77\u4e86\u597d\u5e7e\u4f4d\u5168\u6642\u9593\u5949\u737b\u50b3\u9053\u7684\u5fe0\u5fc3\u4e3b\u50d5\u3002\u5982\uff1a\u674e\u5678\u7267\u5e2b\u3001\u5f90\u5fe0\u660c\u7267\u5e2b\u3001\u5442\u9d3b\u57fa\u7267\u5e2b\u7b49\u7b49\u3002\u9019\u4e9b\u53ea\u662f\u6559\u6703\u521d\u5275\u6642\u671f\u7684\u5c0f\u5c0f\u7247\u65b7\u3002
